Handmade Plastic Bag (Plarn) Trash Bin

Ok so this is a plarn (plastic bag yarn) trash receptacle. What I did was cut about 50 plastic grocery sacks into one long strip. Folding each strip in half lengthwise, braid (using 3 strips) the plarn into one reeeaaaaaaally long braid. You can always add more to it later, you don’t have to do all the bags at once. Then hand-sew (with a big needle and thimble) the braids to form the base first. This pic below shows the base.

Make the base as large as you want. Then start sewing the braids up to form the sides. You can make it as big or little as you want. You could use this same idea to make flower pots, can/bottle coozies, etc. This took about 10 hours, and it killed my fingers. Probably won’t be doing another one for a while.
